Here is my version of the Green Butt Skunk that has been woven using a technique called Kumihimo. The woven part is 8 strands of black DMC metallic floss woven with 8 strands of DMC metallic floss that has a slight green hue. I used DMC fluorescent green floss for the green butt.
I tied up a few of the Green Butt flies variety along with the regular skunks that will be fished on the Deschutes River in Oregon in a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks ago my friend used the woven skunk and did well with it catching steelhead on the Deschutes.
