March 3, 2010 - I have been busy getting ready for the NW Fly Fishing and Tying Expo. I am working on a technique that I call a spiral weave. It produces a round body with a rib. It seems to work well for stealhead and salmon flies. Below are two examples of the flies.

General Info

Realistic Woven Stoneflies are now available online. These unique flies make a great addition to any collection. If you are looking for a gift for that hard to shop fly fisherman, consider a realistic fly that would be great to display in the office or home.

Here is an example of a triple woven body realistic stonefly. The two materials that are used to braid the body are braided with 3 pieces of thread. Those are then braided with together with another three strands of thread braided on top of the stonefly. The produces a really nice looking realistic fly.
